Our Projects
The School Counseling Department aims to promote the mental health and well-being of both students and teachers by offering counseling and guidance services to address school-based mental health challenges. The department also works to establish mental health clubs that encourage peer-to-peer support and fosters mental health leadership and awareness within the school environment. Through these initiatives, the department creates a supportive educational atmosphere, ensuring the mental well-being of the entire school community.
The Community Counseling Department focuses on educating the community about the importance of counseling and guidance in addressing mental health challenges. Key activities include promoting lifestyle changes that support mental health, encouraging help-seeking behaviors for early intervention, and raising mental health awareness to reduce stigma. Additionally, the department fosters resilience and personal growth, empowering individuals and communities to better manage mental health and build stronger, more supportive environments.
The Disaster and Refugee Counseling Department provides vital mental health and psychosocial support during disasters. Key activities include offering Psychological First Aid (PFA) to affected individuals, providing counseling and guidance tailored to specific disaster-related challenges, and facilitating gender-specific mental health conversations to address diverse needs. The department also conducts community education to raise awareness of the mental health impact of disasters. Recent work includes providing support to victims of the Kiteezi landfill landslide and delivering psychosocial interventions during outbreaks of conjunctivitis and Mpox in 2024. This department ensures timely mental health interventions and helps build resilience during crises.
